Things that support #Japan
There’s a ton of people donating their proceeds to various disaster relief organizations, but here’s a few of my favorites. Afterzine- inaugural issue of this bi-annual magazine out of Brooklyn… Ginkgo Leaf Necklace- not to whore myself here, but this charm is from my own jewelry line, i like you as a friend. Check out The Daily Crosshatch for a list of artists who are...

So if you wanted to make a cake, I’d like to request one of the following: (yes, that’s for real a cake.)

RIP Heath Ledger :'( →
This is really, very tragic. I mean, 10 Things I Hate About You is probably one of my favorite movies ever (right along side Bring It On) and Dark Knight is coming out this summer- sure to be another on my list of favs. And what about poor Matilda??

Lily Allen lost her baby →
I’m so sick of the Spears girls and all the other trash out there, but I really like Lily Allen. I didn’t know she was pregnant, but I’m sad to hear that she was actually very excited about it but suffered a miscarriage. Poor Lily.

I love Milla →
As if I wasn’t obsessed enough with Milla Jovovich before (I have a file of cut outs in a box under my bed at my parents’ house from high school)- with her movies, music and modelling- now she has a clothing line and is next to be featured at Target for Go International. Guess where I’ll be March 2nd…

This is what I mean!!! →
This is what I’m talking about! CRAZY manicures with all kinds of plastic JUNK stuck on your fingers. I have to admit though, I kinda wanted to get something this outrageous done, just because I was there. But it was like $15+ PER NAIL. I don’t have a job, so I figured I should save that cash to pay for things like rent and food. Oh well. Aparently, there is a “Japanese Nail...

Some of Japan
ACTUALLY CALLED Karaoke Land: These are tame for Japanese Manicures. They put tons of big plastic charms and crap on their fingers: This is a 400 year old area, converted into a gourmet restaurant that’s kinda like yakiniku (grills built into the table where you cook your own steak or chicken): This is Mei: Every cake in Japan looks the same:

I'm not good at blogging
I suck at writing regularly and/or writing anything interesting. I read enough blogs that you’d think I’d be better, but oh well.  Went to Tokyo to visit my grandmother and to celebrate New Years, which is the biggest deal holiday over there. It was fun. Stopped by the Cath store to spy and saw that they made for Japan fitted and flat sheets in the duvet patterns, something we’d...

Ravelry
So Maurene mentioned this new networking-and-so-much-more website called Ravelry over the summer and I immediately ran over and requested an invite. I’d been patiently waiting and waiting, until I just couldn’t take it anymore- seemed like I was the only person in the universe who wasn’t on Ravelry yet. I went to their site and did the “find out when your invite is...

Portuguese Bacalao, kinda
I always wanted to learn how to make bacalao. It’s great when it’s cold outside, but not super heavy for being a “meat and potatoes” kind of meal. We used to eat it all the time when I was young when my dad brought us to the Portuguese parties and weddings he would play at. Real bacalao is salted cod, and rehydrating fish doesn’t sound so appetizing to me. Plus,...
